Gloster House: An Exclusive, Beautiful and Bright Irish Wedding Venue
Embarking on a new chapter of love and togetherness is a momentous occasion that deserves an extraordinary setting. If a destination wedding in dreamy Ireland is on your radar, you’ll want to know about this gem of a wedding venue. Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of Ireland’s midlands, Gloster House offers an enchanting backdrop for your dream destination wedding.
A few months back, we set out with Kerry Jeanne Photography to tour a handful of luxury destination wedding venues within two hours of Dublin. So naturally we had to pop in and view the glory of Gloster House (we were keen to see the property in person, as it’s been on our list for years!). It’s safe to say, we fell in love with the place.
This elegant Georgian mansion, steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking gardens, provides a picturesque and exclusive setting for an unforgettable celebration. Let us take you on a visual tour of this remarkable venue, where beauty, harmonious colors, historical detail and good light (a designers dream) reign supreme.
There are a number of reasons Gloster House makes a wonderful choice as a destination wedding venue, here are some of benefits of the property that we value as designers and planners:
-Exclusivity and privacy: when you book Gloster House, it’s yours for those few days: 140 acres with a 300 year old house, gardens, farmland, waterfall and woods. They only do one wedding a week, which means the house isn’t a wedding factory and you won’t have any other guests wandering around the property but your own. You will however be sharing the property with Percy the Peacock who is a bit of a show stopper. He seems to love the camera as much as it loves him.
-Accommodation: included in the rental fees is accommodation for 36 people on the property so you can have your nearest and dearest there with you to soak in every minute of your celebration. They also provide a private chef. Additional local accommodation and a shuttle is available, so the rest of your guests can be close at hand for event days.
-Beauty and light: the house has been lovingly restored over the last two decades and the family has ensured the original character of the house has been maintained. The colors and fixtures in the house are delightfully harmonious (ie- you won’t find an abundance of red, banquet room carpeting or coats of armor) and the best part is the abundance of LIGHT (a real commodity in traditional homes in Ireland).
-A Variety of Usable Spaces: the Georgian House with a number of rooms for intimate weddings or a cocktail reception, a large white converted chapel for mixed use with a sit down dinner capacity of 180, a white banquet room that opens to the terrace, formal gardens, pergola, courtyard, and even a small speakeasy.
-Outside Catering: there is a curated collection of quality local caterers to choose from.
-Next Day BBQ Add On: extend your party with a bit of hair-of-the-dog and a good grill. Just add some traditional music and your guests won’t want to go home.
-Location: Gloster House sits nestled in the foothills of the Slieve Bloom mountains, in the midlands of Ireland. This central location makes it a perfect launching pad for exploring the island.
Gloster House sets a beautiful stage for celebrations that will be cherished forever. Allow your love story to unfold in this enchanting setting, where dreams come true and memories of the Emerald Isle are made to last a lifetime.
Thank you to our fabulous travel companion Kerry Jeanne Photography for capturing this magical place so beautifully!
