Purple Rain Themed Holiday Party

A number of us LA vendors decided to blow off some post wedding season steam by throwing the most fun party of the year: the annual DART Collective ‘Party Down’ holiday shindig. The theme was wild and challenged us to unearth the most fun and conceptual elements of the late 80’s and early 90’s aesthetic, and present them in a way that was nostalgically rad and yet not entirely dated. It was just that—iridescent cellophane, more purple than we’d ever normally care to use, neon signage, electric colors, fonts that paid homage to the Prince himself, custom cocktails and menus (anyone up for a ‘When Doves Cry’ cocktail?) and plexiglass installations in shapes that hearkened to 1989.
