Seaside Naval Wedding at the Port of Anacortes
Men in uniform, maritime vibes, a rocking dance floor and romantic details: we’re all about this seaside soiree. It was two years ago this week that Michelle and Lucas tied the knot in beautiful Skagit Valley (home to a few GATHER Girls). With family ties to the area and stunning views of the San Juan Islands, these two chose the charming historical Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Conner for the ceremony followed by the Port of Anacortes’ spacious Transit Shed for their reception. It was the perfect setting to welcome local guests as well as the far flung military crowd that made up a portion of the guest list.
For M+L the priority was (in this order): their nuptials (gotta keep things in perspective!), beautiful images (since that’s what you’re left with after the big day), and giving their guests a wonderful experience. Though secretly, they admitted to us, that having a cake from DERU Market may or may not have been the real number one. (wink wink)
The wedding was classically elegant and full of fun, just as they hoped for. Lucas’ navy pals performed for them not only the post ceremony traditional sword arch exit but also capped the day with an incredible song and dance number for Michelle. The details were timeless, romantic and neutral with a soft color palette, lush florals, local greens and timeless tableware.
So many beautiful images to remember the day from, thanks to the talented Benj Haisch.
We wish these two many happy years together!
